Video of the execution of a freelance journalist in Iraq is released.

James Foley, a native of Rochester, New Hampshire, working for the Boston-based news organization GlobalPost, had been kidnapped in September 2013. The video showing his beheading is released on YouTube by members of the Islamic State of the Levant.
